***** Find your Treasure.

A Picasso sold in 2004, for 104 Million Dollars.

The Best way to buy Art is directly from the Artist.

This Price record has been beat 3 times this Year.

Increased demand through the 1990s has only driven prices higher. A Redfield painting, Spring at Point Pleasant, sold at auction for $68,500 in 1994. In 2000, the same painting sold for $358,000. One Redfield and one Garber painting have each cracked the half-million-dollar milestone. Paintings by Bucks County Impressionists such as John Folinsbee and Kenneth Nunamaker, which once sold for a few thousand dollars, now land well into the five-figure range, Alasdair notes.

Buying works of Art:  Paintings and other Works of Art have been proven over and over again to be the best investment that you can make.  An original one of a kind painting is the most valuable investment, then its limited edition lithograph or serigraphs signed by the Artist, the smaller the edition the more valuable the prints are. The whole edition has to be sold before the value of the prints can really take off.  AP or  artist proof hold the next value and limited edition Giclee prints signed by the artist hold the same value. Signed in plate prints hold no value and they are never numbered, they are prints that are made from the artists work of art and the artist has nothing to do with the printing process and there could be an unlimited amount printed, if they run out of them they print some more.  One other consideration in buying Paintings is the Artist himself, his back ground and lifetime experience. Collecting paintings from an unknown artist is the best bet in getting the best value for your money, once his work start selling and he is picked up by galleries and other collectors you will be competing and the price will go up. Best place to buy a painting is directly from the artist, you can even make him a fair offer. The second best place to buy paintings is auctions and places like the ebay store, the overhead is reasonable and you can also make an offer. The other place you can buy works of art is the gallery, high overhead and the average painting by a local artist will cost an average price between $2,500 and $10,000.

Choosing a Painting :  The  number one rule  in buying a painting  is you must like it,  if you are buying it for investment for  collecting or  for decorating  you must like  the  painting.  Every one has different  taste  don't be afraid of what you like and what you choose, some people like chocolate some like vanilla and others like strawberry that is why there are so many flavors  you pick your own flavor in paintings. I heard some people say look at this painting it look so real you can't even see the paint brush, that is great and it is probably a great painting and very hard to execute But there is also the art of photography which you can get an amazing image. The beauty in a painting is the imperfections in color and in its execution, that is what gives it its personality and its charms. If that sounds familiar its because the same goes for people some times the imperfections in a person is what make them so special, an overbite a crooked smile, freckles and a more in the right place can make the person so attractive. When you look at a painting you look a so much of the artist personality, its like looking in his soul. How do you know if you are getting the best price for the painting? Its easy, you can't do any better than buying directly from the artist or from Ebay.
